Happy Wagon: An Actual Happy Wagon

During our visit to Quezon, I loved our island hopping, especially the walk on the beach. I kept on looking for unique stones and anything red, because I wanted to find a sea glass. If you read Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler, then you probably know about sea glasses. Sea glasses are shards of glasses, such as bottles, windows of sunken ships, etc., that has has come ashore and weathered by the heat of the sun and the sand. They turn into colored frosted glasses, which many people collect. They say that red sea glasses are one of the rarest because it has been under the sun for a long time. No, I didn't found any sea glasses, and I wish I did. When I was picking rocks, I simply stuffed them into my pockets. And when we went back to the  main island, I couldn't believe that I got exactly 20 rocks, just like Stargirl's Happy Wagon.

So I now have my own Happy Wagon!

I'm not giving up on finding sea glasses in Philippine beaches. I bet it'd be magical to actually find one here.#imissummer

Retail Therapy

I had a very bad day today. For various reasons, I was pissed and annoyed. Part of it may be because of the frustrations I've been feeling lately, as shown in my previous post. So to lift my spirits up a little, I had to resort to retail therapy. I often use this before (during those days where I still rely on my parents for money). Buying something helps me ease my stress because I will have something new, and having new things or activities in my life is something I always want to keep constant. Nowadays, I try to control myself, from splurging, since I'm using my own money and I just paid my credit card bill. So for today, I only bought this:

Sure enough, I felt better a little. I didn't spend much, but now I'm excited to bake cupcake recipes from this book. I hope my mood gets better sooner. I don't really like feeling this way. Who does, right?

How about you? What do you do when you're stressed or having a bad day?

Another Definition of Shopping

I went to training again, today. I stayed until 5:oopm at the office, which is kind of late for me. I then went to Alabang Town Center so that I can wait for my Mama there. I went to Powerbooks because I've been wanting to buy one book of the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn which was introduced to me by one of my college best friends, Danna. I was really hooked up when she made me borrow one of her book. When I went to Powerbooks, I had no Idea that there was a sale. I was already willing to consume P750 for two books. I was shocked when I saw that my bill was just P598. When my Mama, arrived I asked her if she could by me two more books and surprisingly, she said yes. I ended up buying four books. Three Bridgerton series and a Spinelli book. (Spinelli is one of my favorite author.) Here's the loot.

I can't wait to start reading. :D

Stargirl Fangirl

"And so I’m me again, Leo. Thanks to the example of a five-year-old. I’m hoping you wouldn’t want it any other way. Not that you weren’t flattered, right? I mean, to have a girl two thousand miles away going to pieces over you, weeping at the mere memory of you, losing her appetite, losing herself and self-respect - well, that’s trophy enough for any guy’s ego, huh?”

--Love, Stargirl

Stargirl holds a special place in my heart for so many reasons. Somehow she became my inspiration in a way Audrey Hepburn has been to girls who wanted to be models. As for me, I want to be more me, just like Stargirl. So in a way my case is a pursuit of being me but not imitating Stargirl at all. Confusing. I know. Anyways, I just loved this quote and I remember crying when I first read it.
